That’s sad to read. People have choices at the end f life and an Advance Decision (Living Will) is a vehicle to enable someone to refuse treatment which may artificially extend life, where the person has advanced, incurable or terminal illness. The pack from the Natural Death Centre charity also includes a Death Plan form and a Funeral Plan form.
