There is uproar at a school near here because a teacher suggested to her children that they may like to stroke their dead classroom hamster before it was sent to its grave. Is this really such a big issue?

It’s up to the parents to deal with it – maybe laugh at their own fears and terror at the possibility that their (obviously loving and bright son) was working in ways they did not yet understand.
So what they had a few moments of shock horror?

Sure the school might have thought it a good idea to tell folks what they were doing but I think its a brilliant thing for a school to do and the beautiful letter is a testement to that.
