Malcolm Jones Dip. FD, Dip.FSM

It was an interest in people and a commitment to the best customer service that first drew Malcolm into funeral services. Over the 19 years he has been working as a senior manager and funeral director he has been concerned to think through the way that funeral services are managed so that the people are placed at the heart of the business. Above all he wants his customers to have all the time they need – to find out about what options they have and make the right choices for themselves and their loved ones.

It is this determination to do what is right and best for the customer that inspires him in his own independent venture – Molyneux Jones. He knows that as a small independent business he can give better service and better value than larger businesses.

The sense of really personal care shines through. You see the effects of this thoughtfulness and attention to detail in his premises.

Molyneux Jones is based in a pleasant parade of shops near to Bedford’s main shopping street. The shop doesn’t look like the traditional undertakers, with the name is picked out in frosted glass on an attractive shop front. It’s a neat way to give privacy while keeping a light, open and unfussy style inside.

You’ll find a pleasant informality too.  There are lots of chairs and settees for people to gather in and a comfortable air about the place. However, the careful design means that, for all the openness, there are also areas where you can feel private.

Specific Gravity

Malcolm will gladly tailor his approach to a funeral to match the wishes of his customers. If you want a traditional service he can meet your needs. If you want a service that is less formal or more personalised in any way, he is happy to adapt as necessary. His commitment to transparency and straight talking should mark him out from other funeral directors.

What's Important?

Malcolm is passionate about putting the customer at the heart of his service. He wants you to feel comfortable and unhurried, and is committed to offering choices that are both good quality and good value. He’s a good listener too.

The biggest benefit of this approach is flexibility – Malcolm will do his absolute best to accommodate your needs and wishes. And you needn’t worry about hidden charges. There won’t be any marketing hype or unnecessary add ons – Malcolm believes in being open and transparent at all times.

What's Different?

Although Malcolm has many years’ experience as a senior manager within the funeral industry Molyneux Jones is a new, small business. There are lots of benefits to you as a customer in this – a determination to do well, flexibility and a really personal service as well as great value for money.

We found Malcolm to be polite, sensitive and understanding when arranging the funeral for my father. He arranged a very good celebrant, Paul Jarret, who did a wonderful job. Most importantly Malcolm ensured the day was carried out to my mothers wishes.

What a stroke of great fortune that I met Malcolm Jones when I had to advise the residential home of a chosen funeral director in 2014. When my mum died last month, I felt very cared for by his personal and authentic approach to collaborating with me to say goodbye to her. Throughout the process, he enabled me to arrange a very personal and unique service which liberated me from fear, and provided the most relaxed environment where my needs were central. I have incorporated this experience and will continue to share with others my experience of the highest standard of customer care with others. Thank you Molyneux Jones.

In February our youngest brother sadly passed away. My sister remaining brother and myself found Malcom to be so kind, understanding and very helpful.

He made suggestions, gave us all the information needed and arranged a funeral to really suit our needs. He found us a wonderful Celebrant, The complete funeral was perfect on the day.

He arranged for and met up with us for the internment of the ashes in our parents grave.

Malcom cannot be faulted, I would highly recommend him.

From the first contact Malcolm was extremely concerned to provide the correct information. His professionalism shone through and he arranged the services of the Civil Funeral Celebrant requested by my wife.

He was not phased by what became a fairly large occasion and can only be highly recommended.

I wanted a woodland burial for my father, this seemed to throw other funeral directors I contacted for a quote such as Co-op but Malcolm at Molyneux Jones was knowledgeable and experienced in such funerals. He was also very flexible and tailored his services to my needs which Dignity did not seem able to do. His charges were very reasonable. On the day he and his team were calm and respectful. I am very glad I had Malcolm’s help as I’ve never done this before. He was caring and thoroughly decent which is exactly what a bereaved person needs.

Molyneux Jones in Bedford arranged my husband’s funeral in October. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Malcolm Jones and his colleagues were brilliant throughout. From the moment Malcolm came to our house we knew we had chosen the right funeral director. None of my family live locally but Malcolm was very accommodating about people visiting. His coffee is excellent and he has an endless supply of tissues too.

After phoning several funeral directors, Malcolm was the first one who said he was sorry for the loss of my husband. From the beginning, I felt that I could talk to Malcolm and he was listening to what I wanted with the sensitivity that was needed at this difficult time. He gave a very personal service, nothing was too much trouble. My husband, Bob, had a celebration of his life which even had the congregation applauding. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My Sister and I recently lost our Mum. We used the services of Molyneux Jones (Malcolm Jones) 37 St. Cuthberts Street, Bedford, MK40 3JG and felt compelled to say how happy and delighted we both were, with the service that he provided. We can not fault him in any way and would highly recommend him to anyone.
