I know a lot of you like a good gangster funeral. This one’s not premier cru, but it’s not bad.

“My father was no saint,” Ryan McElroy, one of Mr. McElroy’s three children, said in a eulogy. “But people said he could light up a room. He’s been away 15, 20 years, and you still felt protected by him.”

Interesting… When I read his son’s tribute of “he could light up a room” I did wonder if arson was on this charmer’s list of crimes.

Unless he was prone to spontaneous combustion, of course. But I think he could certainly blaze away…

It’s not the top banana’s funeral write-up! None of the excitement and pornographic glamour given to da boss’ showy send-off. Just a gritty end to a hard and grisly life as a working gopherdog. It would be sad if he hadn’t been so unspeakably nasty.
Normally I love the gangster funerals – this was (written up to be) dismal, and I felt that way too.

I did warn you that it wasn’t premier cru, James! I hope to land you a corker before long.
