Funeral Director/s: Exeter Funeral Services is a brave new business established by David Albery. David was born into a funeral directing family but, more to the point, was born to be a funeral director -- this is the work he has to do. He started work, part-time, at the age of 14 in the family business and never looked back. “I love my profession. I love to serve and look after families through their bereavement, and make sure I get everything perfect for them.” David is on the young side, you might think. Let me tell you, he brought 15 years' experience with him when he opened up on his own. He is also, by the way, exceedingly tall. Above all, he is a very, very nice man. And he is forward thinking, aware of how funerals are changing. He knows how important it is to meet people “with openness and a willingness always to be learning and embracing new ideas and concepts.” Away from work, David likes to indulge his love of the countryside. He’s been milking cows since he was 8. His garden keeps him busy, and his chickens. He is a bell-ringer. He likes spending time with his friends and keeping trim at the gym. Premises very conveniently situated and easy to find, a blend of modern and traditional, very comfy, light and welcoming, and definitely not oppressive or intimidating.

Specific Gravity: If it’s a formal and traditional funeral you want, David has the figure to carry it off magnificently, and he is frequently complimented on his immaculate turnout. If it’s something less formal you want, he will happily tone down. His hearse and limousine are Jaguars but, again, he is quite happy to find you a less showy alternative. He recently took a man to his own funeral in his own estate car, his pride and joy. How lovely is that?

What’s important? You receive David’s 100 per cent attention from start to finish. He does not delegate anything to anyone else. We doubt whether any other funeral director in Exeter can touch him for dedicated personal service. He’s passionate about it.

What’s different? There’s nothing complacent or dyed-in-the-wool about David. Not only does he bring great experience and capability to his enterprise, he also brings freshness.

Services: Your call will probably be answered by David; if not, it will be Carole Grover on the other end, David’s auntie, or Kay Albery, his Mum. David will look after you throughout. Will visit you at home if you wish. Caters happily for all ethnic groups, and has experience. Same sex FD to lay out the body if you wish. Come in and help if you like. David is happy to work with you if you want to care for the person who has died at home. Will discuss whether or not you want embalming. Superb secular celebrant on his books, Chris Howe.

Remarks: Flexible, willing and highly personable, David gladly goes the extra mile as standard - and that includes evenings and weekends. He’s not expensive, either, and may well offer best value in the area.

We cannot speak highly enough of this lovely, caring, professional funeral director.
David will give you what you want when it comes to a funeral not what he thinks you want.
