Thanks Charles

This second edition has only been out for just over a week and already we are approaching 14,000 readers. It took 6 months for the first one to get that far.

Your piece is predictably raising some eyebrows.

There is an open invite to all GFG bloggers to broach a subject of their choice and submit an article. Richard, Gloria, Sweet pea, et alia. Ru has a juicy piece on embalming ready to go for the next edition; deadline October.

Thanks again

Rosie, I’d be glad to. I look forward to reading this issue. Ru, I hope your piece isn’t too explicit! I glimpsed at Charles’s piece and, as a fellow smoker, I do see where he’s coming from. PS Why a pdf page-turner mag rather than a website? I ask as I’m deliberating on both options at work.

Morning Richard,

What’s your topic? The church and celebrancy perhaps?

Your question re the hosting of the mag. Do you mean setting up a dedicated website rather than putting it on ‘issuu’ ? If you know of a better way please let me know. I like the way it presents itself and the pages turn, I’m easily pleased.

Send any drafts to rosie@naturaldeath.org.uk

Cheers
Rosie

Hi Rosie The best way to describe what I mean is by posting this non-related title: http://www.oryxinflightmagazine.com/ Qatar Airways’ inflight magazine (print version) is adapted as a magazine website (distinct from the airline corporate website for ticket buying etc). Content from the print mag (current and archived) is presented in digital form (scroll, click etc). To the right of the website it also offers visitors a page turner replica of the print version. Either version can be shared with a customer database by email, either in the form of a link to the e-magazine pdf or the website. Both are… Read more »

Hi again Rosie, I could write about the church and celebrancy. Or I could write about woodland burial grounds in relation to conservativism, the real political and philosophical friend of the environment because it’s about trans-generational loyalty! Hat-tip Burke, but conservatism is about a partnership between the living, the unborn and the dead; neigbourliness rather than state intervention; local activities rather than global laws that destroy sovereignty with top-down control. Woodland burial grounds are a small example of the free market restoring equilibrium to environmental issues. Distractions like corporate greed seek to justify state intervention, the cause of disequilibrium. Just… Read more »

Hi Rosie & Fran,
Excellent Mag, even better made so easily to download, Many interesting topics of conversation Including so many ladies are in the profession and are allowing us all to share with them, why they do the job and the rewards that follow. Brilliant.
Rosie, I have done what you asked of us ref the link on our websites, and if you have any advert space that needs to be filled please let me know

Hi Rosie Fran and Lara

I can see why the second edition of more to death has now got 14,000 readers, well done for broaching subjects that are taboo and opening up the platform for futher discussions.

Really enjoyed the article on Silent Cities.

Not entirely sure that smoking can in any way be condoned…or that it is ‘fun’ in any way. I don’t really think that there is a fun police in operation stopping people from enjoying themselves but promoting moderation in things like salt is a sensible healthy option.
I can’t actually believe that in this day and age anyone would try and actually promote smoking as a pleasurable thing to do. It’s only pleasurable because you’re an addict and your body is craving it.
