Something to warm the cockles
The fog is swirling around us at GFG towers. Mellow fruitfulness has passed and the drear days of November have hunkered down around us.
We need cheering up and how better than with a great New Orleans Jazz funeral. It’s from 2007 and the life being celebrated is that of Kerwin James – New Orleans euphonium player. It’s looks chaotic, but sounds terrific. Watch out for the point where they where they rock the casket.
Winter break anyone?

A fabulous way to carry a coffin out from the service to the car! Why did I ever worry about it? these guys rock and heft it on high like they mean it. No shamefaced shuffle back down the aisle, they lift it like they love it! Yahoo.
Could we carry it off like they did? Who cares, as long as we try, I say.

There’s something heartwarming about the way they swing the casket up – high fiving heaven.
We’re such a buttoned up nation aren’t we?

we do something similar when we have the body at home, we gather all the family and friends in two lines and pass the coffin along and out of the front door. We call it surfing a wave of love.
