Sorry to be a pedant, even about publicity material (or perhaps one needs to be especially pedantic about such material) but our bodies are surely not dying from the moment of our birth. Those words ignore the curve of growth, maturation, and decline, which is really rather more wonderful than she suggests! Hi as a cancer nurse my words ‘we are dying from the moment of our birth’ come from the fact that as soon as we are conceived…our cells begin to die..ie as a foetus we have webbed hands and feet..the cells between have to die to make fingers and toes….our cells in our bodies are dying all through our life and being reborn.. You are right, of course, GM. There’s a wider – perhaps more philosophical – concern here though. If it is all about our own deaths it can easily feel like ‘reeling in the years’.
