The same medical profession that has so successfully found ways artificially to prolong life (for whatever hippocratic reason), without researching so diligently into how to maintain the quality of that life at least to a minimum standard, should take responsibility for providing an end to the suffering to which it is party, and not leave it to its victims to solve the problem for it while trying to prevent them from doing so.
Don and Iris, and all of you in a position to speak with authority, I applaud you.
