Handprints at the entrance Lohapol, or Iron Gate. They are from the hands of the wives of Maharaja Man Singh, made before they committed ritual suicide on his funeral pyre in 1843.

Wow! What an amazing picture. I knew this sort of thing went on but it still gave me goose bumps to see this. What happened to the hand print on row two, second from the right? Did she escape? Did she get a reprieve because one of them had to clear up the mess afterwards?
